MRCOOL® DIY® 5th Gen Multi Zone |

How to Build Your Custom Multi-Zone System

The only professional HVAC installation you can do yourself.

1

Pick Your Condenser

Select an outdoor unit (18k to 55k BTU) based on your total home square footage. This is the "engine" of your system.

2

Select Air Handlers

Choose a wall unit or ceiling cassette for each room. Ensure the total BTU of handlers matches your condenser's capacity.

3

Add Line Sets

Measure from each indoor unit to the condenser. You need one Quick Connect® Line Set per air handler.

★ THE ONLY TRUE DIY® SYSTEM: Our patented Quick Connect® technology is factory-sealed and pre-charged. No vacuuming or professional HVAC tools required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I mix and match different types of air handlers?

Yes! You can combine wall-mounted units or ceiling cassettes on a single multi-zone condenser as long as the total BTU requirements are compatible.

What if my line set is too long?

Quick Connect® line sets should never be cut. If you have excess length, simply coil it horizontally (never vertically) near the outdoor condenser. Use our lineguard enclosures to hide the extra coils for a professional look.

Is it really "No-Vacuum"?

Absolutely. Because both the condenser and the line sets are factory pre-charged and sealed, the system is ready to run the moment you torque the connections. No HVAC vacuum pump is required.

What electrical power do I need?

Most multi-zone DIY systems require a 208/230V dedicated circuit. Always check the specific "Max Fuse Breaker" rating on your chosen condenser's spec sheet before installation.
